Outgive Incorporated is a dynamic, Toronto-based startup founded in 2013. As a UX Lead, I spearheaded a team of designers in revamping and building user experiences across the company’s diverse portfolio of brands. This role demanded a dual focus, combining strategic leadership with hands-on design contributions to deliver exceptional digital products.
In a fast-paced, multi-project environment, I led the design of multiple websites for Outgive, including Neonize, Mesmeric, Typelab, Beauty Boss Academy, Stallion Express, Mashpop, Heypixel, and the Outgive website. The challenge was to simultaneously enhance user experiences across these platforms while navigating complex stakeholder dependencies. By combining data-driven insights, user research, and iterative testing, the team delivered improved interface designs that catered to the unique needs of each brand.
Outgive’s digital landscape presented significant challenges. Prior to my involvement, the company primarily relied on developer-built, templated websites with limited user-centric design. This foundation, coupled with a rapidly growing portfolio, created a complex environment. The absence of a centralized design system and inconsistent project requirements from various stakeholders hindered efficient design and development. Additionally, the lean development team strained resources, necessitating strategic prioritization and resource allocation. Overcoming these hurdles required a robust design process, effective stakeholder management, and innovative problem-solving.
